SPIRITUAL PREPARATION WITH ACADEMIC PREPARATION ENSURES SUCCESS IN ANY EXAM

NORTH ARABIAN VICARIATE, FEBRUARY 18, 2013 : On January 12 2013, a special mass was held for all the children of Std X and XII who are 
appearing for Board exams as also for their parents. This mass was organized by the St Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in the North Arabian Vicariate. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Joy Marangattikala.
It was well attended by over One hundred and twenty children and their parents. The melodious voices of the children's choir, ably led by Faust and Reema Nash, brought a lively touch to this special celebration. The student lectors all read the Scriptures so clearly and meaningfully touching all our hearts.
The mass began with a short narration depicting Dominic Savio's dedication and commitment to Jesus. During the homily, Fr. Joy highlighted the importance of preparing ourselves spiritually for our exams in addition to 
academically. He gave us some tips and guidelines on how we can include prayer in our studying routine.
Addressing the stress and anxiety faced by the children and our parents, Fr. Joy encouraged us to sleep well and have faith, drawing strength from the Psalm that was read earlier "The Lord provides for those he loves, while they are asleep". When we do our best, God WILL take care of the rest.
He re-iterated the words of the Gospel of John which tells us that Jesus is the vine and we are His branches. He advised that while we studied, we should continuously abide in Him, drawing sap from the vine Jesus. Those 
of us branches that remain in Christ, Christ in turn will abide in us and we will bear much fruit. He asked us to always keep in mind that without Him we can do nothing. But WITH HIM, we can do ALL things.
Finally, Fr. Joy also had encouraging words for our parents. He cited examples of parents that pray devoutly before the Blessed Sacrament for their children at the time of appearing for their exams internationally. He advised them to continue to pray for us their children, because Jesus always listens to the prayers of parents.
After Holy Communion, we all recited a beautiful prayer surrendering ourselves to the Lord.
