FAITH FORMATION DAY STD. SEVENTH AND EIGHT

MATUNGA–MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 08, 2013: The Faith Formation day for Std. Seventh and Eight students of the North Mumbai (East) Deanery was 
held on Sunday, February 03, 2013 at Don Bosco Primary School Hall, Matunga.
One hundred and fifty children along with their Catechists from six parishes participated in this programme.
The day started with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Wilfred D'Souza sdb. The theme for the day was "New Evangelization."
The children were served yummy snacks after the Eucharist and they were then divided into groups.
Each parish presented the project topics given to them, in the form of skit, dance or PPT:
Our Lady of Dolours Parish through a skit and dance explained their topic Pollution.
Holy Cross Parish presented their hand-made structure of a suitable House and explained the need and importance of good living conditions for all.
The students of St. Dominic Savio presented the advantages, disadvantages and manipulation strategies of Mass Communication Media and through their mine skit emphasised on the Bad influence Mass Communication can have on our lives.
St. Paul's Parish through a skit showed how a devotional Pilgrimage helped to save the life of one of the characters in the skit. The students also conducted a challenging Quiz on the Shrine of St. Don Bosco.
The students of Our Lady of Fatima Parish presented a skit showing the difficulties faced by children who are Bonded Labourers and because of their life being centred on Jesus, they were rescued and set free.
The Faith Formation day ended with an innovative Quiz conducted by Ms. Rita D'Silva of St. Paul's parish, on the Sunday school curriculum for the students of Std. VII and VIII.
The celebration ended at 12.30pm with a thanksgiving prayer.
