A UNIQUE RESOURCE FOR FORMATION FROM THE SALESIANS OF DON BOSCO

NASHIK-MAHARASHTRA, FEBRUARY 09, 2013: On the Feast of the patron saint of the parish, the 
faithful of Don Bosco Church, Nashik, witnessed the release of a significant book entitled, "PSYCHOSEXUAL INTEGRATION AND CELIBATE MATURITY". The book was by his Lordship Bishop Lourdes Daniel who also presided over the Eucharistic Celebration. Copies of the book were presented to his Lordship as well as to the Rectors of the three Salesian communities in Nashik - Frs. Savio D'Souza, Ashley Miranda and Solomon Rapol.
The book edited by Frs. Jose Parappully sdb and Jose Kuttianimattahil sdb is published in two volumes, contains twenty-eight chapters, all written by a team of experts [viz. psychologists, formators, theologians, spiritual directors and lawyers including Frs. Godfrey D'Sa, Ajoy Fernandes and Matthew Coutinho of the Mumbai province. The book covers every conceivable aspect of psychological integration and celibate maturity and enlightens the reader on emotions and emotional maturity, psychological development and celibacy.
This set of books has been commended by many experts in the field of formation. Father Francesco Cereda sdb, General Councilor for Formation acclaims the book saying, "This book is a precious help to anyone interested in the area of psychosexual maturity and celibacy, especially superiors and formation guides". Bishop Bosco Penha commends the book thus: "This book should be of great help in the seminaries, presbyteries and religious houses and would certainly help to give us better integrated priests and sisters."
All in all, the book promises to be a brilliant tool for all formators and the formed. We hope it attains its goal of helping in the affective formation of seminarians and religious all over India.
