NORTH EAST BOMBAY DEANERY RECOLLECTION
Catechetical Coordinator
MATUNGA-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 06, 2012 : The North Mumbai Deanery (E) held its second meeting of Catechist Coordinators from 
the parishes and schools on 02 December 2012 at Don Bosco Youth Services, AV Hall, Matunga. Before we began, a half hour was devoted to plan out two programmes: the Choir Festival and the Faith Celebration Std. VII & VIII.
The second Recollection for the Sunday School and Regular School catechists, then followed from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm. In all, forty were present for the recollection. Fr. Wilfred D’Souza welcomed the catechists. The evening began with a prayer song. The animator for the input of the Recollection was Fr. Wilfred D’Souza sdb. He conducted an enriching session by focusing on the theme “New Evangelization”. His talk highlighted the obligation of every Catholic to be evangelized and then to go out and evangelize. This is done through reflecting on the Catechism and the Vatican II teachings.
After a short break, a meaningful session was conducted by Mr. Lloyd Nunes. His talk highlighted on the three pillars of New Evangelization and the four missionary movements of New Evangelization. He began by projecting a video of Philip and the Eunuch, which was followed by a group discussion. The answers summarized the existence of three important elements or pillars of evangelization, namely: Word of God, Spirit of God, and People of God. He also mentioned that one of the effective methods of reading the Bible is through “Lectio Divina”; an explanation of the seven steps then followed. He also mentioned that the four missionaries of the church were the Children for Christ, Youth for Christ, Couples for Christ and the Disciples for Christ. A prayerful reading and meditation on the Word of God, brought the session to a close.
All the teachers who attended the recollection felt encouraged and supported.
The evening came to an end with delicious dinner being served.
