YOUTH GATHERING ON "YOUTH, FAITH AND MEDIA"

NASHIK-MAHARASHTRA, MARCH 18, 2013: On March 17, 2013 the Don Bosco Parish, Nashik 
conducted the youth gathering on the topic 'Youth participation in Faith and Media'. About fifty youngsters from the surrounding parishes of St. Patrick Devlali, St. Anne's Cathedral and St. Dominic Church Satpur too participated in it.
The programme began at 11: 00 am with a prayer song. Fr. Robert Pen Sdb, the Principal of Divyadaan Salesian Institute of Philosophy was the main speaker of the day. He interacted with the youth on 'Personality Development through Faith' and 'Creative Participation in the Media Culture' in the morning sessions. Luncheon followed after these two sessions.
In the afternoon there were 'Gospel action songs' and moments of 'Praise and Worship' organized 
by cl. Jaojian Daniel and cl. Nazarius Kharkongor. This was followed by a panel discussion on the questions raised by the youth. The discussed questions were related to the day's topic and on the problems faced by youth in the fast growing media culture. Fr. Bastian Thomas Sdb, the Parish Priest of Don Bosco, two FMA sisters and two Divyadaan brothers were there to help out the youth in their queries. The gathering ended at 4:00 pm with a group photo session.
In the vote of thanks the youth expressed their great satisfaction of having participated in this youth gathering. They added that it was one of great value interacting and discussing on the issues concerning youth, faith and media which they thought were relevant and need of the hour. Fr. Bastian Thomas Sdb and Fr. Robert Pen informed the youth present that such gathering would continue to happen once in every three months.
