WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION AT BGVK

AHMEDNAGAR-NASHIK, MARCH 08, 2013:, On March 06, 2013, BGVK organized its annual Women's day, while the citizens of India are fighting for the rights and justice for women.

<![if !vml]><![endif]>One thousand two hundred and forty two women from sixty two villages of Ahmednagar and Marathwada came together under one roof to participate in this women's day celebration.

Madam Roswitha Mous from Germany was the Chief guest. Other guests of honour present on the stage were Ms. Julia from Germany, Bro. Ramesh Director BGVK, Fr. Manuel Mission animator, Fr. Thomas D'Costa Rector St. Annes' Church, Fr. Bento and two women Sarpanches.

The three speakers for the day were Kusumtai Salve Socialist, Advocate Nirmala Chaudhari President of Nyayadhar Sanstha, Mr. Vinayakrao Paule Agricultural officer Bank of Maharashtra.

In their speeches they focused on lighting a flame in the hearts of women, encouraging them to rise above and make themselves heard. All the three speakers spoke with passion to enlighten the minds of women on their rights, their dignity and various schemes available for them.

The speeches were well appreciated as one could see the gathering clapping as the speakers were speaking. Afternoon was set aside for the different Self Help Groups to perform their awareness skits.

Inspite of their busy schedules at home, tremendous efforts have been put in to prepare the skits. Trophies were given to the groups that performed well as a token of appreciation.

<![if !vml]><![endif]>BGVK has always played an important role in the district of Ahmednagar to empower women. The results are seen even today. The day's programme was compered by different women and they also coordinated with the BGVK staff to get the programme well organized.

During the programme, women also had an opportunity to interact with Madam Roswita to answer some queries, share their experiences as members of SHG. The efforts and hard work put in by many people made the programme a success.

At the end of the day many women also expressed their joy of being part of BGVK family. May all the efforts put in and creativity used to empower women, help the women of Ahmednagar and Marathwada to come up in society.
