DON BOSCO - GROHE SKILL ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM

KURLA-MUMBAI, MARCH 09, 2013: Don Bosco, Kurla and Grohe have been collaborating over several years in the training of young men to be <![if !vml]><![endif]>plumbers. The Grohe Jal Academy at DBCL has turned out many a successful plumber.

However, the March 07 this year was a special day as it saw the inauguration of a Skill Enhancement Program for Service Technicians of Grohe, India operations. Don Bosco, Kurla is proud to be training technicians for its own collaborative partner.

The first of five batches of twenty trainees each, a total of a hundred trainees from all over India, will be undertaking this residential program for a duration of ten days. A Service Engineer and a Service Technician will be attached to each batch. This advanced plumbing course is unique because the program includes the development of behavioral skills such as customer relationship, etiquette, work ethics etc. These skills are eminently important even in a technical service provider today and industry demands it of its service personnel.

The Inauguration of the program began with a prayer song invoking God's Blessings on this venture. The faculty and trainees were then introduced to each other. Mr. K. Srinivas Raju, Head, Technical, India and Sub-Continent, Grohe India (P) Ltd. introduced the course to the trainees and explained to them the technical outcomes expected. He advised them to take the course seriously thereby enhancing their knowledge and becoming more efficient and productive.

Mr. Amarr G. Prabhu, Principal, St. Joseph's Industrial Training Institute, DBCL, also addressed the gathering and encouraged the trainees to translate the skills they would attain into real life situations and never to forget that a good plumber's duty is not only customer satisfaction  but also to save water.

And with that the twenty trainees left for their classroom and their first lecture. After all, when a leading company like Grohe has a tag line "Enjoy Water", the more skilled its technicians are the more will you Enjoy Water !!!
