PARTICIPATORY PERSPECTIVE PLAN IN KALAMVEERA

WALVANDA- MAHARASHTRA JANUARY 18, 2013: Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha BSVS has conducted two days participatory perspective plan 
development programme in Kalamveera village of Jawhar block. One hundred and twenty people including women and youth participated the two days workshop held from14 to 15 January 2013.
BSVS Director, Fr. Anaclete D’mello, the panchayat member, Mr. Jitendra Topale and the Gram Vikas Mandal president, Mr. Ananta Topale inaugurated the programme. Fr. Anaclete spoke about the importance of coming together and developing plan for village development. Fr. Anaclete also spoke about the necessity of having village perspective plan.
BSVS Community Animator, Mr. Deepak Darole was the main resource person. He was supported by BSVS coordinator, Melvin Pangya and Facilitator Mr. Krishna Shende to conduct the two days workshop. Exercises were conducted on Social analysis, classification of issues, identification of strategic issues, trend analysis, developing vision and mission statements, the goal and strategies and preparation of action plan. At the end, various committees were formed by the people of Kalamveera to implement the measures proposed in the PSP micro plan.
The villagers and GVM members took active role in the workshop. During the concluding ceremony Village Police Patil, Mr. Ananta Topale expressed that” we are very happy with the process and highly impressed about it because nobody has taught us this process before”. Gram panchayat member, Mr. Jitendra Topale said that “two days training helped us a lot to understand the village situation and issues. It also helped us to realize that how people can take development in their hand”.
On the second day of the PSP, an impressive dance programme was arranged by the villagers for the organizers of the programme. Village Animator Mr. Deepak Pawar gave vote of thanks to everyone.
