EXHIBITING KNOWLEDGE THROUGH CREATIVITY

NERUL-NAVI MUMBAI, OCTOBER 23, 2012 : The Science, Mathematics and Social Science Exhibition was held on the October 20, 2012 at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, 
Nerul. The Manager, Fr. Bonnie Borges inaugurated the exhibition.
A total of forty eight exhibits were on display in the Ground floor Assembly Hall and the Food – court, with around two hundred eighty participants.
The budding Mathematicians put up a Puppet show, and displayed Factors and multiples, Math Mistakes and puzzles, Domes Tessellations and quilts, Areas and volumes, symmetry among others.
The young Scientists covered topics like Animals and their young ones, Photosynthesis, Natural Calamities, Food and health, Fibre to Fabric, Movement in animals, Waste Management, Energy - Efficient house, Diseases of the Lungs, Spoilage of food, Electricity and many more.
The Dynamic Social Scientists displayed exhibits, ranging from Early Man, National Heroes and World War II, to forms of government in History. Climatic zones, Endogenous and Exogenous landforms, Metro cities, and Rainwater Harvesting were among the exhibits in Geography.
The student’s hard work coupled with timely guidance from the teachers of the three faculties was evident from all the creative and innovative exhibits. Students used waste materials 
old toys, simple food stuffs to explain the concepts and spoke with confidence. They were well equipped to answer the questions posed by the judges.
The judges were highly impressed by the efforts of the students and their extensive knowledge about the subjects and thus had a tough time judging the best project. The exhibits were judged on presentation, material used and creativity. The Principal, Fr. Anthony Fonseca, praised all the participants at the end of the day.
It was yet another display of the blending of knowledge and creativity, which has truly become the trademark of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul.
