“LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME”

DAKOR-AHMEDABAD, DECEMBER 05,2012 : On December 2, 2012 Twenty one children of the parish from different villages received the sacrament of grace. These 
children were well prepared for the sacrament of grace a week ago during the preparatory camp by the animators. A day before five of them received the sacrament of baptism.
There was intense preparation for the sacrament of reconciliation by the parish priest, Fr. Isaac. All the children made their confession. Fr. Alex Fernandes and Fr. Ivan D’Souza from Don Bosco Kapadvanj made themselves available for the confessions. 
Children also spent time in adoration during the confession.
The 21 children along with their parents came in procession for the holy Eucharist followed by the altar servers and the priests. Fr. Isaac presided over the holy Eucharist. The theme for the celebration was “Let the Little Children Come to Me”.
In his homily he spoke about having a strong relationship with Jesus. He emphasized on the response of Jesus to Thomas’ doubt, “Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen Yet Believe”. He also narrated various examples of saints who were one with the lord 
and those who longed for the Holy Communion and survived on it.
These children professed their faith with lighted candles with the faithful. They came with lighted candles to receive the Holy Communion. The first Holy Communion children raised their voices to the lord with good singing and by animating the various parts of the mass.
The altar and backdrop for the celebration was well decorated and set by the Fma’s. The joy of receiving Christ was seen on children’s faces. The parish priest thanked all those who made this day a memorable one for the children.
