WARM WELCOME FOR STUDENTS AT SAVEDI

SAVEDI-AHMEDNAGAR, JUNE 18, 2013: The year began in a unique way for Don Bosco Schools and Jr. College in Savedi. As part of the government's intention to popularize and promote THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION ACT, the students accompanied by their teachers, organized a procession through the school neighbourhood making people aware that children of the age group six to fourteen years should be enjoying themselves in school from today.

 

It was also celebrated as FREE TEXT BOOK DISTRIBUTION DAY - The day when free text books were distributed to all school children from standard first to seventh. The students marched through the neighbourhood chanting invigorating slogans, encouraging all youngsters and their parents to enroll their wards in school.  

 

During the assembly on June 17, 2013 the Management of Don Bosco Bhavan, Savedi was glad to welcome the staff and students of the School and College. Fr. Anthony Goyal, the outgoing Supervisor of Don Bosco Vidyalaya was thanked for his contribution and services in the school.

 

Fr. Manuel Murzello, the manager welcomed Fr. Francis Fernandes, the new Principal of Don Bosco Vidyalaya, Fr. Cedrick Sankul, the new Supervisor and Cl. Xavier Bandya, the new teacher in the school. Fr. Anthony Goyal, the Principal of the English medium school was also welcomed. All the new students were also warmly welcomed in the school assembly and each received a rose as a sign of welcome.

The Local Municipal Corporator Mr Popat Baraskar was invited to be the chief guest. In his speech he encouraged the students to take advantage of the facilities provided in the school and motivated them to become effective leaders in their societies. Together with members of the school committee he distributed the free text books to students of standard first to seventh.

 

The management and staff took the pledge to devote themselves to the task of inculcating values in the young minds through education. After the assembly the students were escorted to their classes by their teachers to begin the first day of school.
