THE OPERA ON FAITH

KAPADVANJ-GUJARAT, MAY 06, 2013:  On April 13, 2013 Don Bosco Kapadvanj presented an opera, "Rooted in Faith". The opera was written and directed by Cl. Shaun D'lima sdb.

 

The Chief Guest to the program was Fr. Louis who is the Principal of the Saccidananda School Thasra.  This year, he celebrates the silver jubilee of his ordination.  In his speech, he praised us for the many good initiatives we have undertaken and encouraged us to do more.

 

The aspirants of Don Bosco Kapadvanj got the opportunity to act on stage for the first time and that too in the English language hence it was a big event for them. They literally worked themselves to the bone to put up a good show.

 

This year being the year of faith, we chose Faith as the theme. There was a lot of planning and preparation for this day. The opera focused on a group of youngsters who decided to change their old ways and in doing so come to the realization of God's presence in their lives.

 

The aspirants of Kapadvanj worked hard to put things together and make this event possible. They were also guided by the community of Don Bosco Kapadvanj Fr. Ivan, Fr. Alex, Fr. Mayank and Cl. Shaun who urged and guided them to give of their best.

 

The animation of the song "WHO AM I?" with hands illuminated by U.V tubes was a hit with the audience. The opera was a catechetical one, an event to remember and more especially to realize the importance and presence of God in our lives.

 

There were many people present for the opera-Parents, Parishioners, and Religious from our Deanery. The parents especially were proud of their children's performance. One of them remarked "You have taken rough stones and turned them into diamonds. The applause at the end of the show was really deafening.

 

The Opera was a touching experience for all those who witnessed it.
